There are no expansion packs, so no dinosaurs or marine animals. I distinctly remember recalibrating my touchscreen many times because I thought something was wrong with it. The touch registration is awful for some reason. Rather than painting terrain directly onto the zoo, you paint on a grid on the bottom screen which corresponds to an area on the top screen. You might think painting terrain with the DS stylus would be intuitive, but unfortunately not. The animations also have far fewer frames than the PC version. Baby animals in particular just look like smudges. Here are my opinions on them, which may seem more credible coming from a longtime fan of the series than from a generic review.ĭue to the low resolution of the DS screen, animals are even harder to see/discern from the background than on the PC version. Have you ever played either of them? I personally didn't hate ZTDS, but it's definitely inferior to the PC version.
